It takes a special vidder to pique my interest and raise a sense of excitement whenever I see a new piece of work from them, and 0neLuckyKid certainly makes my very short list.

I first came across her work when I was looking through entries for the ‘Art in Motion’ competition on YouTube and I saw her Twilight entry ‘Miss You’.

Based on a very simple premise captured in Edward’s quote: “I think I would miss you even if we never met”. The vid is a dream-within-a-dream: Bella dreaming of Edward dreaming of her, before they have even met. The video is very abstract and symbolic, and she cleverly incorporates the iconic book covers into the visuals. It is exceptionally rare to see a video encapsulate such a depth of feeling and create such a stylized atmosphere, and this vid’s beauty speaks for itself:

Many of her other videos are shorter, abstract pieces centred around an equally simple premise or even a simple quote. Particularly worthy of note is “your life will flash by. there won’t be time to show enough.”, a collection of clips from multiple sources to explore the concept that ‘everything ends’:
