Davis Bloome struggles with his true nature: a Kryptonian beast destined to kill Clark Kent and destroy the world. The reluctant hunter, he searches for salvation, and when it comes to him in the form of Chloe Sullivan, he will do anything to keep her.
I really enjoyed the Chloe/Davis storyline, and the relationship between them, but this was never a happy ‘ship – it was literally Doomed from the beginning. This video therefore isn’t intended to be a ‘shipper video for Davis and Chloe, it focuses mainly on Davis’ struggles against ‘the beast’ (Doomsday), his determination to be good, and his desire for Chloe as an ‘antidote’ to his darker nature. I love the irony of how his desire for her runs away with him, and ultimately pushes him further towards the dark side that he’s so desperate to escape from.
As the video is from Davis’ point of view, the editing style reflects his view of the world as Doomsday tries to take over his mind, and the disjointed, nightmarish flashbacks of his victims.

oh wow! This was an incredible video! I never really got into the Davis/Chloe relationship like most other Chlex fans. I could see the appeal, but it didn’t attract me like Chlex did. I could see the desire for redemption coupled with the self-destructive streak that Davis had… that reminded me so strongly of Lex that I could immediately see why Chlex fans were turning to Davis/Chloe for solace.
BUT because I didn’t really see the same kind of highly intellectual, manipulative, Machiavellian tendencies in Davis that I adored in Lex.
Until I saw this video. I finally saw the FULL APPEAL of Davis. He might not be a smooth manipulative negotiating bastard like Lex. But he IS a predatory hunter nonetheless… his woobie eyes none-withstanding, LOL!
The editing was amazing! I loved how it started with showcasing Davis’s brutality, and didn’t let up for an instance as to what kind of damage he’s capable of. Yet, in between all the bloody gore, we also saw moments where he was just a confused man hoping for grace and redemption. And I loved how the video interwove Chloe, not only as Davis’s saviour, but also one of his hunted targetted victims as well.
Thank you SO much for the incredible video. It brought out an aspect of Davis that I had never appreciated before.
