Summary:
In a nutshell, this is a 5:30 short film! I love doing narratives like this, and creating so many scenes for a fictional couple has been so satisfying. Plus, thanks to this vid, I’ve been feeling festive since about September!! Due to the scale of the story that needed to be told and the level of manipulation needed (most of which hopefully you won’t notice!) it’s taken me about 4 months to do this vid… It was created for the Advent Calendar at Naughty-Seduction.net – each day between 1 and 24 December there’s a new chapter of a Chlex fanfic released and awesome graphics, with my vid being released on 24th. My last one was in 2007 with ‘All I want for Christmas’. When Julie, the site admin, asked if I’d be involved again, I just jumped at the chance to get back to my chlexy roots and use some of my new skills for a totally AU vid.

Lex unwillingly playing a carol on the piano was the first idea that I had for this vid, and the rest of the story fell into place around it. The idea behind this one is that Lex is a grinch/scrooge type character who hates Christmas and bans everything festive in Metropolis. He’s a heartless, loveless fiend! Chloe, a reporter at the Daily Planet, despairs at this turn of events and finds herself a little overwhelmed by it all. As soon as Chloe touches Lex, he begins to see what life could be like if he embraced love and the spirit of Christmas. Eventually, he is faced with a choice – to continue on his lonely path, or to make a change.

There are a lot of effects in this one (and I mean a lot!!) to place Chloe in the same frame as Lex, to replace backgrounds, manipulate still images such as the newspaper article and Lex’s note, and I even created a 3D model of spinning headlines to encircle Chloe. I’ll hopefully get round to doing a show-reel of before and after footage soon so you can see what’s been changed!

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it – Merry Christmas! Please remember to comment and subscribe to my youtube channel!
